Work Looks.

•October 8, 2009 • 4 CommentsI don’t know about you guys, but I go through phases with things I love. I like to go overboard and totally immerse myself into whatever my latest obsession is, until I’m completely bored and over it, and then it’s on to my next new love. I definitely do not agree with ‘moderation’. Come on, like you can really have too much of a good thing. I guess until that good thing becomes old news, leaving you bored and restless. Lately, it’s been this skirt. I love it, it is so easy to wear, it’s light and makes me feel like a little girl. But I’ve worn it so much already, I’m thinking it’s about time to part ways.
I got this skirt for 30$ on sale, from Guess. The blazer is Marciano, and was also on sale for over 60% off. It is another staple I’m getting bored of. The shoes are my favorite pair and I would wear them way more often, if I didn’t have to hold back tears with every step. I guess they don’t generally test shoes on actual humans before releasing them to the public. This is why I paired them with the thick socks, thought it might help. It didn’t.
Why?
•September 20, 2009 • 5 CommentsWell, I just finished watching my team embarrass themselves against the Giants, again, and I’m thinking of retiring as a fan. I mean you work so hard, calling plays, cheering, talking shit, pacing nervously, how about they don’t turn the ball over four times, and throw three picks? My stomach cannot take anymore.
This is me during a happier time in my life. I’m wearing a dress I bought for 30$ at some boutique in Vancouver. The tank underneath is about 10 years old, my sister gave it to me and I can’t bring myself to get rid of it. I bought the shoes from Sketchers after seeing them in the window at the promenade, they were only 50$ and are super comfy. Overall, this outfit is a success; cheap, comfortable and very much me. So, unlike my team, I understand the concept of winning.
I Can…
•August 30, 2009 • 4 CommentsOk, so I was thinking, and I’ve decided that I am going to learn how to make my own clothes. I am buying a sewing machine and I am already getting excited. The problem is, I’m super messy, so I’m trying to imagine what my apartment will look like with fabric, and thread everywhere, because that is the reality, no matter how much I tell myself that I will ‘stay on top of things’. I also have a short attention span, so I’m sure I’ll end up with a bunch of unfinished crap, but today I made my very own pair of cut-off jeans, and I actually put the effort in to fray the edges this time, so I’m pretty confident I can turn that kind of obvious talent into a kick ass new dress….
My mom bought me this dress from Macy’s on sale. I didn’t really like it at first, but then I found this sweater in my closet, and now I think it’s super cute. Someone at work told me I looked like “little bo-peep”, which wasn’t exactly the look I was after.
Looks From Weeks Past.

•August 3, 2009 • 3 CommentsSometimes I just find life super complicated. Being the overly logical person that I am, my heart and my mind are rarely on the same page. I’m not sure if living like this has made me happier or if I’ve missed out on some great moments and some great people. I’ve always thought that we were given logic and reason in order to set us apart from the rest of the species. I mean animals have emotions right? But they certainly don’t have much logic. So I’m just going to go ahead and assume that we are expected to use it. I do, however, enjoy the moments when I can put all reason aside and make decisions based purely on how I feel, which is why I really enjoy my mornings getting ready. It’s almost like I’m a blank canvas, and I get to paint a picture, there is something very liberating about that entire process.
Here, I’m wearing an old Marciano dress I bought on sale, at my favorite store; Marciano at the Grove. This outfit made me fall in love it again. The boots were also on sale, from the same place. I’m blessed to work only a few minutes away, so I don’t ever have to miss a sale. These are the little life perks that remind me, maybe God really does love me.
ps: I’m sorry about all the delays in between these updates. My collection of outfits is piling up out of control, and I realize I need to get back on track soon. I’ll be wrapping up my work project soon, and then I’ll be back to fashion and bargain hunting and sharing all of this fun stuff with you!
The Dress.
•July 13, 2009 • 9 CommentsI finally had a full night off, and I spent the night hanging out in Venice, reacquainting myself with all the fun spots, and all the weird weirdos. One thing that concerns me, however, is how little these young girls are wearing these days. Call me a prude, I don’t care, but girls still in high-school should not be walking around with half their bums hanging out. I realize it is hot, but since when did that become an excuse for girls to strip down to almost nothing?. As a parent it is your responsibility to protect your children from the evils of the world, so when you let them prance around half naked for all the creeps to see, rest assured, you are failing at your task.
Anyways, I love this dress. It is one of my latest purchases, like months ago, and it was 50% off. I think it’s just gorgeous. I wanted to wear it to work so I played it down a bit with flats and socks.
Take a Break.
•July 4, 2009 • 5 CommentsIts been a while since we talked, and I’m bursting with a bunch of crap I want to share with you, but I’m going to keep it short because a) I want to spend the little free time I have with actual people and b) I don’t think its fair to punish you guys just because I’ve been busy.
I haven’t been shopping in over a month, I mean not even online shopping which I’m not sure has happened since I discovered online shopping. But no matter how much work I have, I still have to find the time to look good. This first look is one from a few weeks agos, and it’s possibly one of my new favorite looks. The skirt was on discount at guess, and I picked it up for 30$. I didn’t try it on so I certainly didn’t expect it to look this good.

•June 24, 2009 • 7 CommentsI’m sorry, I’ve been really busy with work projects, and haven’t had much time to sit down and write my usual diatribes. I’m working on a new post, but in the meantime, here are some looks from the past weeks that didn’t qualify for their own posts.
